Guardian Program

The USC Foot Patrol’s Guardian Program offers valuable safety and organizational support for larger events, often held off-campus. Our goal is to help attendees navigate events safely while providing guidance to event organizers on planning, logistics, and safety measures.

With years of experience at a variety of events, our Guardian Program team is here to:

• Assist with attendee safety and direction.
• Ensure individuals return home safely after the event.
• Offer planning and safety advice to event organizers.

Who are the Guardian Program team members?

Guardian Program team members are selected from USC volunteers who demonstrate exceptional commitment, responsibility, and focus, even in high-pressure situations. Each team member is trained in Standard First Aid and CPR/AED C and can adapt their dress code to fit your event’s tone, whether professional or casual.

While Guardian teams are a valuable safety resource, please note that:

• They are not a replacement for security or medical first responders.
• They do not physically intervene in confrontational situations.

Booking a Guardian Program Team

Organizers of events involving Carleton University students can book a Guardian Program event team free of charge, even if the event is not officially affiliated with Carleton University.

• Events do not need to occur during USC’s operational hours.
• We recommend booking at least two weeks in advance for the best chance of availability.
• Shorter notice requests will be considered, but attendance cannot be guaranteed.

Smaller Event Support

For smaller, typically on-campus events, regular USC Foot Patrol teams can be booked to provide:

• Safe walks for attendees.
• Information about the USC and our services.
