Our volunteers are ready to chat with you over the phone, providing friendly conversation and a reassuring presence until you safely reach your destination.

How Does it Work?

If you’d like some company while walking, just give us a call at (613) 520-4449 during our operational hours – it’s that easy! A friendly USC volunteer will stay on the line with you throughout your entire journey, whether you’re on or off campus, or even in a different country. 

This service is perfect for when you:

  • Prefer phone support over walking with someone
  • Are walking in unfamiliar or uncomfortable areas
  • Want immediate support and company without having to wait for volunteer arrival
  • Are travelling outside of the Ottawa/Gatineau area
  • Just need a friendly voice to chat with
The walk and talk service is completely free (standard phone charges may apply for international calls)!
