Other Services

The Unified Support Centre (USC) is committed to enhancing the well-being of the Carleton community through a variety of services and programs. Here’s how we support our students and campus life.

Foot Patrol evening patrols

USC Foot Patrol teams conduct evening patrols around campus, contributing to a safer environment. Feel free to say hi or request a safe walk during their patrols!

If our team notices something that may be hazardous to the Carleton community, we report it to Carleton University’s Joint Health and Safety Committee, Facilities Management and Planning, and Campus Safety Services to address identified issues. While the university’s Joint Health and Safety Committee is primarily responsible for campus safety, the USC provides a student-focused perspective to raise awareness of concerns.

Students and community members are encouraged to report hazards through Carleton University’s CU Worksafe Guest Portal using the Good Catch Report feature.

Phone Charging Stations

Need a quick charge? The USC operates secure, self-serve phone charging stations for your convenience. For assistance or if you experience any issues, contact us at 613-520-4066, email usc@cusaonline.ca, or visit our office.

Please note: Carleton University Students’ Association (CUSA), USC, and Carleton University are not liable for lost, damaged, or inoperable devices while using the chargers.

CUSA First Aid Kit Restocking

We ensure that all CUSA service centres, offices, and businesses are equipped with well-stocked first aid kits. Kits are audited and restocked bi-annually to maintain accessibility and readiness.

If a kit is missing an item listed on the inventory sheet (located inside the lid), please let us know at usc@cusaonline.ca.

Swag and Safety Supplies

The USC, in partnership with DrinkSmart and Safer Roads Ottawa, distributes various visibility, safety, and school-related items. Items include mini-first aid kits, snap-on visibility bracelets, highlighters, and more.

Supplies are available during office hours, but availability may change over time, so stop by to see what’s in stock!

Whether it’s through enhancing safety, offering essential resources, or simply providing helpful swag, the USC is dedicated to creating a supportive and secure environment for all Carleton students. Visit us today to learn more or get involved!
