Every donation – whether it’s food, personal hygiene products, or financial contributions – makes a tangible impact on the lives of your fellow students. Together, we can make sure everyone at Carleton has access to the essentials they need to thrive.

How Can You Help?

There are several ways you can contribute to our mission. Whether you would like to donate food, funds, or personal hygiene items, your support goes a long way toward helping us maintain and expand our services.

What We Need Most

We’re always in need of these non-perishable items though please take into consideration the items we accept:

  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Dental Floss
  • Pads (regular, overnight & long)
  • Tampons (light, regular, super, super+)
  • Canned Soups (vegetarian & non-vegetarian)
  • Broth (vegetarian & non-vegetarian)
  • Canned Beans (baked and unseasoned)
  • Canned Chili
  • Pasta Sauce
  • Dry Lentils or Beans
  • Rice
  • Pasta
  • Canned Vegetables

Have a Large Donation?

For large donations, we would love to arrange a pick-up/drop-off. Just email us at usc@cusaonline.ca to schedule a time.

For safety reasons, we are unable to accept:

  • Chilled items that have been stored at room temperature
  • Expired perishable food or essentials
  • Non-perishable items more than one month past their expiration
  • Unsealed or partially used items (e.g. an open bag of rice)
  • Unsealed perishable items (e.g. takeout containers)

Donating Funds

Donating funds is a great way to support the USC’s mission. Your monetary contributions help us enhance and expand the diverse range of services we provide, including food hamper services, safe walks, and more. By donating, you ensure that the USC can continue offering these essential services to Carleton students.

How to Donate

We have partnered with Carleton University’s Department of University Advancement to launch the Emergency Essentials Assistance Program Support Fund on FutureFunder. This crowdfunding campaign supports our efforts to minimize food insecurity on campus. Plus, donations made through FutureFunder are eligible for charitable tax receipts!

Prefer to Donate Directly?

If you would prefer to contribute directly to the USC or wish to support another USC service, we welcome your donation! Please note that while we cannot issue charitable tax receipts for direct donations, we’re happy to provide a standard receipt upon request.
