USC Student Levy Fees

Student levies play a crucial role in funding the Unified Support Centre (USC) at Carleton University. As a department of Carleton University Students’ Association (CUSA), a non-profit organization, we rely on the dedicated support from student levies to maintain and expand our services to meet the growing needs of our community. The USC currently has two active levies that our students are paying into, the USC Food Support Levy and the Foot Patrol Levy.

The Emergency Essentials Assistance Program (EEAP) Levy enables us to meet the increasing demand for food and essential items on campus, particularly as food insecurity rises across the student body. Thanks to your contributions, we have been able to:

  • Expand Food-Related Services: With your support, we can provide more frequent and diverse food hampers to meet the needs of our growing student community.
  • Accommodate Dietary Restrictions: We have been able to create and stock dietary-specific options to cater to a variety of dietary needs, ensuring that everyone has access to the support they need.
  • Streamline Distribution and Service Access: Funding from this levy allows us to maintain this website as a centralized resource for students, making it easier to access food hamper services and receive timely assistance.

The Foot Patrol Levy ensures that we are able to offer a vital part of student life at Carleton University, offering students safewalk services on and around campus and contributing to an overall sense of security. Your support has enabled us to:

  • Support Student Employment: We offer two student coordinator positions, enhancing our ability to meet demand and keep Foot Patrol running smoothly.
  • Ensure Comprehensive Training: Levy funding covers essential first aid and mental health training for our volunteers, empowering them to assist effectively in various situations.
  • Maintain Equipment and Safety Standards: The levy enables us to equip our volunteers with necessary safety gear, uniforms, and radios, allowing them to carry out their duties safely and efficiently.

Your contributions to these levies make a lasting difference on campus. You’re enabling both the USC’s Emergency Essentials Assistance Program and Foot Patrol Program to operate sustainably and respond to the rising needs of our student body. Together, we are building a stronger, safer, and more supportive community at Carleton University. Thank you for making it possible!
